2009 G-Day Game Photo Gallery

Sun, 12th April, 2009 - Posted by RidgeDawg  |

It was a perfect to get out and enjoy some spring football. Since it wasn’t packed there were also plenty of opportunities to get up close to the action. So, I marched up to the 50-yard line and enjoyed the game from seats I could really only dream about watching a regular season game from. I had the camera around the neck and got some nice shots of the action.

I hope everyone has a happy Easter.

So how did you like my seats? HA! Don’t I wish. That’s one thing I enjoy about G-day other than the game. I like to get there early and squat on a prime piece of real estate. It’s good to see how the other half live.

No kidding Dean! I was just sitting there thinking sitting in those seats during an Auburn game may have to be considered a religious experience.

Another thing is that it’s a great way for the whole family to get out and get a little taste of the Georgia football experience. I have two girls (6, 5) that aren’t quite patient enough to endure an entire game in the elements but loved roaming around the stadium on G-Day.

Great to hear from ya again Dean. Still hate Clemson as much as I do? ;)

I’ve got two boys myself (7 & 2) and while I haven’t taken my youngest yet I have taken my oldest to 3 G-day games and a few regular season games (ones I don’t mind leaving at halftime). But like you said he enjoys G-day more because he can roam around a bit. Plus it’s less nerve racking for me as well because I’m not worried about him bothering the people sitting around me.

On the Clem[p]son hate; yes I still hate them. However not as much anymore. I guess it’s geographical because I don’t have as many Clem[p]son fans around me as I did growing up so I don’t hate them as much anymore. Conversely because I’ve got so many ignorant Gamecock fans around me I find myself hating them more than Clem[p]son.
Speaking of hating I had a friend pose a question, which thinking about it now I hope it was a question and not a proposition, to me on the subject that I actually paused to answer. The question was “Would you rather pull for Florida or have sex with a man? While both are vomit inducing and would require multiple showers to cleanse the body and soul of guilt and shame I just don’t think I could ever forgive myself for pulling for Florida. Now that’s some HATE!

@toon Thanks for dropping in! I really like your site. Nice work. Are you a camera person? I got a 40D with a 70-200L. Worked great at G-Day. At night when I drift off though I dream of a 5D Mk II :)

@dean I know what you mean about losing some of the malice toward the Tigers. I do pull harder against the Cocks and GT now than I do for Clemson. I guess when it comes to hate proximity matters :)

Also when it comes to hate the W/L matters maybe the most! I can tell you my hateometer went off the charts when the hated maggots were plucking the hedges for their souvenirs!
