From Stafford to Bradford… “Please, please, please go Pro. Pretty please.”
Apparently, while I wasn’t looking, Sam Bradford became the hottest NFL QB prospect that could possibly come out of this year’s crop of college quarterbacks. What should Matt Stafford think about that? He should be hitting his knees praying that Bradford makes the same decision he did; to truncate his college career and make himself eligible for the NFL draft.
I gotta say I just always thought Bradford was a Jason White type “Great college QB” that ran up big numbers in school but didn’t amount to much in the NFL. Well, I watched the game the other night and chalk me up as a true believer. While Stafford could make some incredible throws, he always seemed to lack a touch that Bradford has in spades.
If Stafford couldn’t put it on a rope and had to display a little finesse, I thought he became just average. Maybe there are throws that Bradford can’t make that Stafford can, but from what I saw, I see why he’d be rated a hair above Staff.
Hopefully, he’ll declare and the Lions will see it the same way.

Nothing like going to your favorite UGA sports forum and being confronted with a grotesque Gators BCS schwag ad. One day we’ll laugh about this… really.

Dantzler has a nice post on the Stafford and Moreno NFL decision. I chuckled when I saw this line:
Unfortunately, he also goes down as one of the worst redshirt decisions in college football history. Georgia’s magnificent Mark Richt admittedly made a major mistake not playing the phenom as a true freshman, and the Bulldogs got only two years out of this unique talent.
Then I cried. Richt, what were you thinking? Imagine redshirting A.J. Green. Ridiculous right? The Moreno decision was it’s equal. Sigh.

Well, Jeff Dantzler over at Bulldawg Illustrated lays it all out there for us:
Florida won the national title for the second time in three seasons and for the third time in the last 13. Over the last three years, Florida has won four national titles in football and men’s basketball. In those two sports, over the last 14 years, the Gators have played in the national championship game seven times. Tim Tebow is one of the greatest players in college football history, and is pushing Herschel Walker as the best in SEC annals.
Urban Meyer is even better than most thought. Even without Tebow he will have the Gators reloading every year. Now, for Georgia to even get to a chance to play for an SEC title they’ll have to get through the USC of the east. Fantastic.
How do you think Greg Reid is looking now?

I am actually excited about Joe being QB next year. I think what he may lack when compared to Stafford in regard to physical tools he may make up for in leadership and moxi.
